Born in Milan, Pina won the 1906 National prize for sculpture. He moved to Paris and worked in the studio of Rodin around 1910 continuing to work in the manner of Rodin after the Great War. The Valsuani foundry, who cast bronzes for Degas and Rodin among others, produced limited editions of his work.
