Bronze Pacing or Ambling Horse.
The right foreleg raised and head tilted to the right, the mane falling entirely to the right side, a well finished cast, lightly patinated with traces of original dark patination, now mounted on a grey marble plinth base.

A workshop? plaster cast relief of La Bonte, part of a larger panel designed for the tomb of the sculptor, Pierre Cartellier (1757-1831) in the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris. Rude was a pupil of Cartellier on arrival in Paris from Dijon in 1808.
