10025 A fine Dutch burr walnut, Amsterdam longcase clock by Gerrit Rensman of Zwolle, the eight day arched movement with a 13 inch silvered dial with Roman numerals, the corners with spandrels of the seasons against a matted gilt centre with triangular apertures showing engraved day and month characters, a subsidiary seconds dial in the centre and date aperture below together with ringed winding holes, above in the arch, a painted and silvered moon phase with date notation, Dutch striking on two bells, an alarm dial now disconnected.
The arched hood with cresting and fretwork panels surmounted by giltwood Atlas and angel figures, the trunk with canted corners and arched door with glazed lenticle, on a square plinth base with crossbanded side brackets and small bun feet. The dial signed Gerrit Rensman Zwol (sic).
