9944 A Regency style bronze and marble-topped gueridon after the model of Vulliamy, the circular white marble top within a burr-elm border with bronze edge mount, supported by three patinated bronze figures, ‘The Weeping Women’, on a circular patinated and gilt bronze pedestal with swags between bucrania, with a burr-elm stepped plinth.

Description

The main support for this gueridon is copied from ‘The Weeping Women’ candelabra designed in 1811 and supplied to the Prince Regent in 1814 for Carlton House for £350. They were removed to Buckingham Palace in 1837 where they remain.
