Ottoman Carved and Painted Coffer
10706 A rare Ottoman carved, painted and gilded coffer, the lid with an oval panel of a harbour view (possibly Constantinople?) within a border of scrolling flowers on a gilt background, the front and sides painted with swags of flowers supported by ribbons, the front with a military cartouche, the side panels carved with a tall flower vase, the stepped, spreading base carved with flowers among scrolls, original locks and handles. Unrestored condition.
