Description
Chairs and stools with similar design to the seat rail are known from commissions by Ince and Mayhew between 1774-1780 though none match this pattern. Interestingly, mahogany hall chairs with an identical back are at Newby Hall in Yorkshire, and are presumed to have been part of the large Chippendale commission for the house though they cannot be identified with existing documents.
